What body system does scoliosis effects?
Scoliosis effects the skeletal system, more pacifically the thoracic region of the spine, it creates a curvature in the spine that makes it bend to the left or right a little or a lot. The cause for most scoliosis causes are unknown. It usually starts at birth or a little before puberty. As the patient grows the cure will grow with them, and depending on the level of the curve it will ether barely be noticeable or form a hump on their back.
Signs and Systoms of scoliosis.
Some signs of scoliosis are;
Uneven shoulders, one shoulder blade appears higher than the other, uneven waist, and Oone hip is higher than the other.
Some symptoms of scoliosis are depending on the sveriaterity, like the spine will curve around and turn into a twisty shape if left unchecked. This will cause one side of ribs to stick out further than the other. Most of the time after the curve develops the patient will feel small pains in their back, and then it will get worse as time go's on.
How is scoliosis treated?
There are some treatments for scoliosis, like a brace. The brace goes on the outside of the back and try's to help redirect the spine back into place. Another solution to scoliosis is surgery. The surgery is know as spinal fusion, a bone graft is put into the spine after the spine is forced into a straight placement. Then after the bone graft is secure the back is sown up and then the next few days there will be pain worse than ever before. Then after a few weeks the pain will stop.

What happens if scoliosis is not treated?
If scoliosis is not treated it can lead to the ribs pushing agents the lungs and heart, causing the heart to struggle with pumping blood and the lungs will struggle to take in air. Another thing that could happen with scoliosis is back problems like sever pains, extreme spinal curve, and extreme back pains. Also your body appearance will change in a many different varieties, like higher or lower hips or waist.
