This song is the best!

Once upon a time there a musician that everyone was crazy over! Her name is Sally Mcgovern. Sally just released a brand new song and it was the best!

Soon after the song was released Sally started to notice that her new song was all over the internet and it was getting sold without her permission! This is called Piracy, and Sally was not okay with it.

Ashley is in so much trouble!

Sally told her agents to find the person that was doing this at once. Soon Sally later found that her song lyrics were getting copied into different songs, this is known as Plagiarism. The person that did this was Ashley Bourns, and Sally was going to go give her a piece of her mind!

You can't use my lyrics in your song!

"I only used some of your lyrics.

When Sally got to Ashley’s house she said “You used my song lyrics in your song, and that is plagiarism!” Ashley looked at Sally and said “I only used a little bit of your lyrics and that is called Fair Use, so I’m fine.”

"I have a copyright license so you can't use my lyrics."

Then whats copyright?

Sally told Ashley that she has a Copyright License on her song, so she can add additional copyright permissions to it. Ashley said “If copyright license can let the owner of the license add other copyright permission to their product, then what is Copyright?”

Okay, I will write my own lyrics.

Sally responded “Copyright  is the basic legal rights to protect the authors work.” Ashley now understood that what she did was wrong and she decided to write different lyrics.
