Once upon a time there lived a Lady and Lord who lived in a mansion with over 25 rooms.
This couple wished for a child more than anything. Because of this, when they finally had a baby girl, called Angel, they spoiled her rotten. She became a bratty girl who expected everything and got everything.

Her room was fit for a queen. She wore the finest dresses and prettiest bows, everything a little girl could want and more.

One day the happy parents decided to adopt a child from the local orphanage. They thought another child would be good for Angel. Soon a young girl called Alanna was adopted. Angel was horrified and treated Alana like a slave.
"Pick up that!" Angel would yell at Alanna. "I can get you throw back to the orphanage!" Alanna never wanted to go back to the orphanage so she did as Angel said.

PICK IT UP SLAVE!

Alanna was a much more sensible girl than Angel. Her new parents offered her a bedroom just as glamorous as Angels but she refused. Instead she had a smaller, more basic bedroom. The only thing she didn't like was all the pink.
Alanna was a sweet, hardworking girl. She cleaned her room everyday and cleaned up any mess she made. Then she was forced to make Angels bed and tidy her room.
The most horrible thing that Angel did to her was act all sweet and kind in front of their parents, pretending they were best friends. But really, when their parents thought they were together, Angel would lock Alanna in the cellar, only taking her out later when someone came searching. Angel would always pretend they had been playing in the gardens.

Alanna was very upset but not only that, she was lonely. There in the cold, dusty, darkness Alanna would cry....

One day Angel's grandmother came to stay. Unlike Angel's parents her grandmother did not spoil her. She was a wise old woman who believed if you wanted something, you had to work hard for it. When she met Alanna she was delighted.
'A young girl who worked hard and was kind'. A good example for Angel. Angel was jealous. Her grandma clearly liked to be around Alanna more than Angel.

Later that day, when their parents had gone out, Angel's grandmother gave Alanna a gift. Alanna thanked her graciously.
Meanwhile, Angel had been playing dress ups in her bedroom when she went to get Alanna to clean up. She saw her grandmother giving Alanna the gift. Angel pretended to skip into the room and spot Alanna's gift. She smiled at her grandmother and simpered, "Is that for me, Granny?"
She reached out to snatch the present from Alanna. When her grandmother intervened. "No Angel, that is not for you." her grandmother said sternly. Angels smile quickly faded.

"I thought it was for me!" she whined, her bottom lip trembling. Alanna gulped, "Angel can have it-" she stammered to Granny, knowing Angel was about to throw a tantrum.
"No, darling, Angel has many toys and books, you have been cleaning all morning you deserve a treat." said Granny firmly. Angel's face flushed red.
"I WANT A PRESENT!" she screamed, stamping her foot. "GIVE IT TO ME NOW!"

GIVE IT TO ME!
Granny calmly said, "Angel, go to your room." Angel looked like she was about to explode. She stormed over to Alanna and slapped her across the face.
Alanna stumbled and fell, tears leaking out of her eyes. Granny had lost her patience. She marched over to Angel.
"Listen here young lady!" she scolded. "You are a cruel little girl! Go to your room you spoilt child and I will talk to you there!". Of course being Angel, she wasn't fazed by this. She just stalked off to her bedroom, fuming. Granny rushed to Alanna and hugged her. "I'm sorry child, it will be okay, she will be dealt with later."
