A New Baby?!

A story about Dru meeting her new baby brother, Dakota.

One normal day in March, Dru's mom discovered that she would be having a new baby! Her mom immediately began to think about how Dru would react to her new sibling. Would she be happy? Sad? Excited? Angry? Nonchalant? Who knew!

Dru's mom decided to take her on a picnic to give her the news. Her mom knew she loved the park and picnics so she would be in a good mood to learn about the new addition to their family.

Dru's mom was nervous, but excited to tell Dru about the baby.

Dru and her mom arrived at the park. While unpacking the picnic bag, her mom began to start the conversation about the baby. She said to Dru, "I know it's just been me and you for these past 3 years, but mommy is having a baby! You're going to be a big sister Dru! Congratulations!

Dru suddenly had a look of excitement mixed with fear, mixed with confusion, mixed with happiness.

She had never been a big sister, but she was ready to learn!

Dru and her mommy began preparing for the baby boy's arrival. They celebrated with a jungle themed baby shower where close friends and family welcomed baby Dakota. They were gifted with a crib, bottles, diapers,wipes, creams, clothes, shoes, blankets,stroller,car seat, everything you could think a baby needs! Dru was getting more and more anxious for her baby brother.

FINALLY!

The day had arrived. Dakota was born. Dru was officially a big sister. He was the most adorable thing she had seen.

This was a new experience for Dru, but she was able to put her fears aside and step into her role as the best big sister ever!
