"All things share the same breath -the beast, the tree, the man...the air shares its spirit with all life it supports."
-Chief Si'ahl

The Carbon Cycle is the continuous movement of carbon between different living organisms on earth and the environment, through processes like photosynthesis, respiration, decomposition in the soil, and also the combustion of fossil fuels.

CO2

To begin, plants and animals release carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere through respiration in their mitochondria.

The carbon products released into the air by respiration are then taken in by plants to use for photosynthesis.

When plants or animals die, they decompose and their carbon is released into the soil. Over time, heat and pressure transform that carbon into fossil fuels.

Oil = deceased marine life like algae, and plankton over time
