One fine morning, three friends gathered in a tavern to chatter among each other about Death.

"Death has been hurting many people throughout Engand," the youngest of the friends declared.

"Be careful of Death. He is dangerous," one friend warned.

"Let's make a promise to each other,"another friend exclaimed.

"We'll be sworn brothers who will protect each other and slay Death," the last man announced.

As they left the tavern in search for Death, they met a sad, old man who knew of Death.

"Death is waiting at a nearby tree. Be careful!"

The three friends ignored the old man's last remark and went to the tree.

Instead of finding Death, the friends found treasure near the tree.

Believing that they had found fortune instead, the friends sent the youngest to go to town to fetch some bread for their celebration.
