From November to March snow falls from the sky. Something you can do to forget the cold is snowboard. Head to the mountains, strap in and I'll show you the basics.

The big main part is the board. This is what you ride on.

The bindings are screwed onto the board. That's where you strap in your boots. There are special boots you wear. They are tied tightly to support your ankles.

There are two ways to ride. Left foot forward is regular and right foot forward is goofy. Now that you know the parts, choose which foot feels most comfortable, take the lift up and I'll show you how to ride.

Snowboarding is all about balance. Balance is staying steady so you don't fall.

There are two edges on the board. The toe and the heel edge. You bend your knees and lean slightly forward to catch the toe edge. You bend your knees and pretend to sit in a chair, leaning slightly back to catch your heel edge.
