There are 9 positions in softball and it's up to you to decide what position you want to play. In this book your gonna learn how to play every position. READY? Come on let's go!

THE FIST POSITION IS
* PITCHER *
Pitching is pretty simple, that is as long as your good at it. When you are the pitcher you start out with the ball in your hand and you kind of make a circle with your arm then you release. As a pitcher your maine goal (FYI I'm not talking about soccer) is to get as many strikes as you can. If you get three strikes then congratulations you struck your batter out. For this position you need a heart guard, a face mask and a softball glove. This is how you play pitcher!

THE SECOND POSITION IS
* CATCHER *
Catcher is one of my favorite positions. As a catcher you are trying to stop the ball. If you don't stop the ball it's called a passed ball. It's called a passed ball because the catcher could have of caught the ball and if you don't catch the ball a runner on first could steal the base. ( and no I don't mean by ''stealing the base'' picking it up and running away as fast as you can) well I mean it by running to second base and being one more base up on the field than you were. I'm trying to say is if you are a catcher you better be ready. As a catcher you need a catching mask, a chest protector and leg guards. Happy catching! :)

THE THIRD POSITION IS
* FIRST BASE *
This position is also one of my favorites. This is a position were you always have to be ready for what's gonna happen next, either a drop third strike, ( A drop third strike is on two strikes when the catcher has a passed ball) a pop up, (a pop up is when the batter hit's the ball in the air) or a foul ball (a foul ball is when the batter hit's it out of bounds). Also when you play first base you are in almost every play. If you play first base then you need a face mask and a first baseman glove or a normal glove! :)

THE FOURTH POSITION IS
* SECOND BASE *
As a second baseman you have to be ready within every single play. You can't just run to the outfield and go pick daisies! I mean like your playing SOFTBALL!!!! So as a second baseman you need to be ready ALL. THE. TIME!!! Second base is important because allot of balls are hit to second. So if you want to be a second baseman you have to be prepared. So to be prepared you need the right stuff like the normal glove and a face mask. And remember DONT BE PICKING DAISIES IN THE OUTFIELD. :D

THE FIFTH POSITION IS
* SHORTSTOP *
Shortstop is another one of my favorites. The thing about shortstop is that you never get bored of it. It's because your always moving either it's backing up third or owning second base by basically tagging someone out. So short stop is super important because of how many things you need to do for your team. although it has allot of things to do, it's still super fun for kids who love to play softball as much as I do, so if your a hard worker and want to have some fun I recommend you to play this position!
