A refugee is a person who is forced out of their home country due to fleeing war zones, persecution and natural disasters.

A Real Story From a Real Refugee:

A 19-year-old refugee in Syria whom did not have a work permit struggled through day shifts with a very low wage. As the months in Syria went by Doaa become more and more scared on a daily basis.

One day a motorcycle gang tried to kidnap her as she was walking the streets. The war in Syria had been going on for 4 years, and the country that welcomed her was now showing that they didn't really want them there anymore.

Even after these awful things, she still had hope. She was in love with another Syria refugee who promised to get her to safety in Europe.
