Have you ever heard of the Ebola Virus? Well the Ebola
Virus is a disease causing Virus that can make humans
very sick. The virus is transmitted by contact with
someone who is infected and large amounts of the virus
are contained in body fluids such as blood.

For example, if an infected individual shares food with a non
infected individual there is a high chance of the virus
spreading to the other person.

Coming in contact with an infected human is not the only
way to contract the virus. Vectors, animals that can carry
the virus, that are known are bats and monkeys. Monkeys
are both short term vectors as well as victims of the virus as
they die shortly after contracting it.

Symptoms or signs that you are infected by the Ebola virus
include all of the following: Fever, Sore throat, Weakness,
Severe headache, Diarrhea, Join and muscle aches, Vomiting,
Dehydration, Dry cough and stomach pain. These symptoms
begin typically within four to six days.

To avoid the transmission of Ebola stay away from countries
that have had recent or current Ebola outbreaks. You also
want to avoid contact especially of bodily fluids with infected
individuals.

Basic treatment for Ebola includes maintaining a good fluid and electrolyte
level. Medications to control fever, help blood clot and maintain blood
pressure are also used. Unfortunately death still occurs within 50 to 90
percent of people with Ebola. At this time there is no cure or vaccine for
this virus so it's is best to take precautions and not contract it in the first
place.
