Mammals are animals that can easily be distinguished by their fur or hair. also Mammals typically give birth to live young and also produces milk for their young.



The Tamaraw otherwise known as the Mindoro Dwarf Buffalo is a herbivore that prefers tropical highland forest areas. The Tamaraw is critically extinct because of hunting diseases, cattle ranching, and land conversion and on the verge of extinction. The Tamaraw is a shy but curious animal. They usually rest in vegetation during the day and is active at night to eat.

The Philippine Tarsier


The philippine Tarsier has couple names from Mawumag, Mamag , and Mago is a carnivorous primate which feeds on insects particularly grasshoppers and crickets. The Tarsier prefers to live in a lush dense forest or anywhere there is tall grass or trees to hide themselves. the Tarsier is near threatened because of habitat destruction and fragmentation, hunting, agricultural pollutants and human disturbance. And is one of the smallest primates in the world.

Philippine Spotted Deer
The philippine spotted deer also known as Alfreds deer is a herbivore and one of 3 endemic deer species in the Philippines. Alfred's deer is a nocturnal animal which its habitat is forests on the Visayan islands. Alfred's deer is endangered because of habitat destruction but mainly cause of hunting. This deer species can be easily recognized by the white spots on the fur.

Dinagat bushy-tailed cloud rat


The Dinagat bushy-tailed cloud rat also known locally as Hawili is one of the eight cloud rats found only in the Philippines, and is specifically endemic to Dinagat Island. The cloud rat is a slow-moving herbivore usually eats fruits, leaves, and seeds. The bushy-tailed cloud rat is Critically endangered because of mining and logging businesses destroying their habitat.

The Golden-capped fruit bat also known as the The Giant Golden-Crowned Flying Fox is a herbivore that eats figs. And also Golden-capped fruit bat doesnt use echolocation like most bats do they use their sight. The golden-capped fruit bat inhabits forest, from sea level up to elevations of 1,100 meters. The Golden-capped fruit bat is endangered because of poaching and forest destruction.

The Visayan warty pig is a herbivore that usually feeds on roots in the forest but also will eat cultivation. They can be found in the islands of Negros and Panay. But historically they was found throughout the islands of Visayan. They usually live in groups of four. They are critically endangered because of habitat loss, food shortages, and hunting.

The Calamian deer also known as the Calamian Hog Deer is a herbivore that eats leaves, shoots, and twigs. They can be found and are endemic to grasslands and open forests on the Calamian Islands. They are endangered because of hunting and deforestation. Before they was a thriving species in the Philippines but now has been reduced to hundreds.

The Panay Crateromys also known as the bushy-tailed cloud rat is the second biggest cloud rat and squirrel-rodent on the island of Panay. They are herbivores that usually feeds on tender young leaves of various trees and shrubs, as well as papaya, bananas, guavas and young corns but they did show preference in high sugar foods. They are endangered because mainly of deforestation.

They are endemic to four of the major islands astern Luzon, Samar, Leyte, and Mindanao. The philippine eagle is endangered because of loss of habitat because of deforestation. The philippine eagle got its other name because it eats monkeys.
