Have you ever dreamed of or wondered about being stranded? Well, it actually happened to Lil. Jimmy. Lil. Jimmy is a 19-year old that got stranded in the Palouse Prairie of Eastern Washington State, a temperate grassland with lots of green grass and barely any trees. It is a pretty cool place, but not when you're stranded.

It was early the morning of July 4. Lil. Jimmy was on a plane flight from Raleigh, NC to the Bellingham International Airport to visit his grandparents. It was all going really well. They were in Washington State already when the plane ran out of fuel and came crashing down to the ground, CRASH!!!

            Ten hours later, Lil. Jimmy woke up. He was in a very weird place. He didn’t know this but he was in the Palouse Prairie of Eastern Washington State. He did know that he is in a temperate grassland, he knew that because grasslands have very tall grass and barely any trees. He looked around and saw that there were hundreds of dead people lying lifeless on the ground, he was the only one who survived. Everyone in control of the plane just assumed that Lil. Jimmy was dead too.

              The first thing Lil. Jimmy noticed was that the grassland was as hot as an oven. It was a burning 92° F, which was very abnormal because the average temperature in the summer for a temperate grassland is only 70° F. He knew it was also on a drought because all the plants were brown. Temperate grasslands have seasonal droughts. At this point, he was getting very worried. He did not know where he was, and there was no one in sight. “This place is a stove!” he thought. Then in the distance, he saw a big powerful tornado.
