"He who is not contented with what he has, would not be contented with what he would like to have."
-Socrates

This book is dedicated to my grandmother who always tended to her garden and appreciated all that she could grow, no matter what age she was.

Once upon a time in a small country village, there lived a girl named Ally. Ally had been raised on a farm her whole life. She helped her grandparents farm their crops every day. On top of that, Ally had a crop of her own to take care of.

Each morning Ally would walk passed her grandfather who was working very hard on taking care of his crops. Ally was on her way to check on her own crop. Ally had a garden.

Ally grew sunflowers on her farm. Sunflowers were Ally's favorite flower, not only were they pretty but they talked to Ally and gave her advice. Ally's sunflowers were her best friends.

As long as Ally visited her flowers every day, they were happy. Ally did visit them each day. She would water them, sing with them and even talk to them. Ally made her flowers happy so they made her happy in return.

Whenever Ally had a tough day at school, Ally would look forward to going home to her flowers. All day nothing would make her feel better except for the thought of seeing her flowers and getting to talk to them. On the walk home from school, the only thing on Ally's mind were her flowers. She knew that they would make her feel better as soon as she got home.

When Ally got home she went straight to her sunflowers. They pondered "What's wrong Ally, why are you sad?" Ally told them all about her day at school and the bullies she encountered. The sunflowers told Ally "Ally you are going to meet people in this world who aren't nice to you no matter where you go but, you can't let it affect you, only let it make you stronger." She thanked the sunflowers, they always gave Ally the best advice.

As long as Ally was happy, the flowers were too. After talking to the flowers Ally showed them her appreciation by watering them and talking to them.
