Alpaca Tales Adventures is dedicated to my
grandchildren. I am so grateful for all the
wonderful memories of our years on the farm.
I wanted to share the adventures with my
grandchildren and every other child who has a love for animals.
Roxy our Great Pyrenese will tell our story once again.

Brandy and I have had many adventures on the alpaca farm.
I am going to tell you about our very first adventure at the BIG POND.
Our job on the farm is to protect and to take care of the alpacas and llamas.

It started out as a usual kind of day.
Brandy was herding up the alpacas and llamas to take them for their daily walk.
Today we were going on a long walk up the hills and through the fields to the BIG POND by the forest.
The animals followed each one by one.
It was just the the game follow the leader!

Follow the leader was so much fun!
It was a very long walk. Since it was such a hot day the alpaca's and the llama's were beginning to get very thirsty.
On the way out to the pond we heard howling in the distance. It was coyotes howling in the forest. But it was far away, so we decided to keep going.

We finally arrive at the BIG POND.
Brandy and I were getting a drink and then SUDDENLY we heard a large SPLASH!
To our surprise the alpacas and llamas were IN THE POND! They were taking a swim!
They played and they swam and everyone was having such a fun time cooling down on the very hot day.

I did not go for a swim ....BUT SPLASH SPLASH!
I FELL IN THE POND!
All of the animals laughed because I was all wet and covered in mud!!
Even though I did not plan on going for a swim,
I was happy because the pond water cooled me down on the very hot day.

The alpacas were enjoying laying on the warm grass under the sun drying off their fleece.
BUT SUDDENLY ....Brandy noticed something was wrong.
She started to BARK and BARK and she ran in circles warning us all that something was not right.
I wondered what could be wrong.

The alpacas all ran and gathered together after
they heard Brandy's loud alert barks.
No one knew what could have been wrong on this beautiful day.
But one thing was clear... Brandy knew her job so everyone was listening and doing what they should do.
I quickly ran to Brandy to find out what was wrong.

Brandy discovered that the llamas and the Suri alpacas were not with the others at the pond.
They must have wondered off on their own.
Brandy and I were worried because the forest was not far off and there could be danger in the woods.
We were not suppose to go near the forest alone.
Brandy and I started looking everywhere.

Where could
they be???

Finally....up in the distance in the tall grass
by the forest Brandy and I found the Llamas.
They were eating the long grass and enjoying the summer day.
Brandy and I ran to the field and rounded them up and started back to the Big Pond.
But where was the Suri alpacas???
