What is an Anemometer?
An anemometer measures wind speed and wind direction.
Background
On YouTube I found that a Anemometer measures wind speed and wind direction. I found that the anemometer tells you where the wind is coming from. I found on YouTube that if the wind blows to the west that means it is coming from the east.

How does an Anemometer measure the direction the wind is blowing?
My Hypothesis:
If the cups on the anemometer blows from the west that means that the wind is coming from the east.
The Experiment
Step 1: I placed the materials on the table
Step 2: I punched holes in all the cups and water bottle.

Step 3: I put 2 wooden dowel through all the cups.
Step 4: I duck taped 5 small cups and wooden dowel together to make it secured.

Step 5: I put the third wooden dowel into the water bottle and taped the bottom of the cup to the third wooden dowels.
Step 6: I went outside to test the anemometer and the wind direction.
