There it is running round and round on 

the kitchen floor;

My mommy’s chasing it with the broom 

to get it out the door!

All of a sudden she trips on my toys 

and down on the floor she falls.

Luckily she isn’t hurt because she fell 

on my soft beach ball.

She sees the mouse sitting next to her 

with tears running down its cheeks.

It looks at her with its big brown eyes 

and gives a frightened squeak.

“Please don’t hurt me” the little mouse 

begged.

“I was looking for some food so my 

children could be fed.”

My mommy picked her up and said: 

“don’t be scared” 

Mommy broke off some cheese and 

cut up the bread. 

She put milk in a bottle and packed 

all the food.

The mouse smiled at her and said 

“Thanks, that smells so good.”

She gave my mommy a kiss on her 

cheek 

and said: “Thank you, this food will 

last us all week!”
