On a cold winter’s day, Sam was lonely, cold and very
hungry and as night started to approach, he thought
he better look for a place to stay for the night as he
could see it was going to be a very cold winters night.
He had knock on someone’s house, a man opened the
door, and Sam said can you help me? The man said
“no sorry.” then the man shut the door and Sam
walked off, cold and very sad.
Then Sam reached another house and knocked on the
door, a man opened the door, and Sam asked “can
you help me?” then man said “no, but go to that
yellow house at the end of the street, maybe the old
lady has room to let you in"!

Sam walked down to the house, freezing and
praying that someone will be home and let him in.
Sam knocked pm the door and a lady answered
the door and said "can I help you?" "Please
maam, I have no-where to sleep and have had
nothing to eat, are you able to help me?"

Linda's heart was filled with compassion as she
looked at this young man and with her warm
smile let him in.
She took Sam upstairs immediately to a room
that had simple furnishings, but was warm with a
fire place and filled with love. Sam smiled but he
was also overwhelmed with what
he was feeling.

Linda told Sam he could wash up and change into
warm clothes and dry shoes and to come downstairs
when he is ready for dinner.
Sam smiled and thanked her and Linda left.
When Sam arrived down stairs, he noticed the table
with all the food and his heart was so thankful.
