In dedication to Fredrick Douglas, who was a another inspiration for generations to come,
As well as Steve Irwin,
May they both rest in peace.

The day was like any other in the outback of Austrailia, hot and sunny, almost sickeningly so. Steve Irwin was talking to his wife, Terri, about going to the coast with the camera crew to get some filming done on the local wildlife. Terri quickly accepted the offer, excited to get out of the house for a while, and they got ready while the crew started to take off.

Steve and Terri finally arrived at the Batt Reef area. The crew was already loading everything onto their boat, ready to go off into the sea. Steve offered to lend a hand while Terri went scouting off into the dunes of the beach to find some terrestrial inhabitants.

After filming a few animals on land, like an old sea turtle going to lay her eggs, and a little crab scurrying to its hole, the couple decided to go and explore into the reef a bit and film some aquatic life. Steve was not disappointed by what they found.
Stingrays! They had found a fever of stingrays which Steve was specifically looking for. The couple swam up to the rays, quite quickly may I add, and probably disturbed then. The first mistake, they then began to interact physically with them, feeling their skin and describing the texture and spouting out facts about them, like the sharp barb which they use to sting potential attackers.
