I was born in the very cold city of Rochester, New York.
My mother was working in Rochester in an urban health
clinic as a requirement for her Green Card. However we
considered our home to be Auburn, NY where my father
worked as an Internist.

Life in the tiny town of
Auburn, a whole eight square
miles, was simple. Although
beautiful, we were sick of the
never ending snow. Just
stepping out of the house
was an hour long process of
piling on clothes, gloves,
coats and boots. My father
had to shovel the driveway
every single day for many
months of the year and life
came to a halt when the
blizzards hit the city.

When I turned three, my father was accepted in
the Endocrinology Fellowship program at UT-
Southwestern hospital.

In December 2000, we sold our house and loaded our
things onto a moving truck. It took us 3 ½ days to drive
1308 miles from my first house to our new life in
Coppell, TX. We were excited to start a new life in a
busy metropolis. We also looked forward to no more
snow!

Our first house was perfect
for us, one bedroom each
for me and my brother and
one for my parents. I loved
my school and friends. In
my elementary school
years I played a lot of
soccer. My family decided
that Coppell suited us well
and we would live here for
many years. After my
father finished his training
at the University of Texas,
he started his own private
medical practice in
Lewisville.
