Saul of Tarsus was a tentmaker and a citizen of Rome. He was a Pharisee attempting to defend the Jewish faith. Saul joined with zeal in persecuting Christians. Saul was present at the stoning of Stephen. He wanted to rid the Jewish faith of all the followers of Jesus. In a flash of light he was converted.

When Peter founded the church in Antioch, Paul arrived there and help Peter preach the Gospel. Paul journeyed to Cyprus and Asia Minor to preach in the Jewish Synagogues. Paul made three other journeys and started many churches along the Medditeranian Sea.
