Far away in the Evergreen Forest lived Teddy, a fifty-year- old oak tree.

Teddy lived in the forest with his mom and dad- where both had grown to be 160 years old!

Throughout the forest, Teddy was known as the "lovely tree" because of his loving personality and big heart.

One day, Teddy heard some strange noises in the distance of the Evergreen Forest. As the noises grew closer, Teddy thought they sounded like thunder. "A storm!" he exclaimed. He loved storms because they would bring rain to hydrate all the plants, flowers, and trees. But most importantly, storms brought wind- which was Teddy's favorite!

Teddy and his dad always loved to watch as their branches swayed from side to side. The rustling of the green leaves would often rock Teddy fast asleep. So, he could not wait for the storm to come!

Until one day, they were gone.

But, the storm never came. Instead, these odd, big, metal animals arrived. Teddy had never seen these animals before, but they stayed for a long time.

And they decided to take Teddy's Dad with them.

This made Teddy confused. "Where did Dad go?" asked Teddy. Mama was crying, but Teddy was not. "He must be back soon," thought Teddy.

As days passed, Teddy's Dad did not come back. Which made Teddy have feelings of sadness he did not like. He wished they would go away. "I know," Teddy declared. "If I don't pay attention to them, they will have to disappear".

But, Teddy was wrong. Instead, his sadness grew and so did other feelings.
