Once upon a time, a courageous, brave painter entered the lair of a fire-breathing, ferocious giant dragon in order to be the first artist to paint a dragon in the flesh and not by mere memory. Fortunately, the dragon was sleeping on a pile of old gold coins. He appeared to be in the deep happiness of slumber. The dragons chest slowly moved up and down as the bold painter set up his easel in the middle of the dragon’s lair.
The painter noticed there was a light shaft from an opening above the middle of the cave. The painter wanted to utilize the most light in order to paint the dragon perfectly, so he moved all his things closer and the painter began to paint.
He tried to record every detail--the light gray smoke that curled in waves towards the top of the cave from the the beast’s nostrils, the dark reddish armor-like scales, the long, meandering tail. The painter looked towards the opening of the cave to see how much time he had.
The dragon only came out at night so he slept for hours while the painter painted him anonymously. However, the painter could not get every fine detail perfectly from the small amount of light that was in the middle of the cave. The dragon was curled up at the back of the cave, dozing.
