once upon a time a trickster named Loki was in a mood to do bad. so he went and the the great golden hair of Sif the wife of Thor. but when Thor had known this he was angry. So he went and captured Loki. the trickster had tried to begged Thor to let him go. so Thor sent Loki on a mission to go to a cave and get new hair for Sif. So he left and was able to get what he had left for. But Loki had the sudden feeling to stay in the cave. He later came upon two brothers Brokkr and Sindri.

Loki then made fun of the brother saying they could not make a 3 things well as those of the sons of Ivaldi fashioned. He was sure of himself he bet his own head on the deal. But the brothers said yes to the challenge, as the worked Loki in the form of a fly stung Sindri's hand. When one of the brothers pulled his creation out from the fire it was a living boar with golden hair.

The boar was later named Gullinbursti who gave off light in the dark and ran better then any horse. Sindri then put another piece of gold into fire as his brother worked the bellows. The fly later bit Brokkr on the neck, and his brother drew out a wonderful ring named Draupnir. From the ring every ninth night, eight other rings would come of equal weight.

Sindri then put iron on the hearth and told his brother that for this next working they have to be very careful. Because if they mess up it could be more important then the other 2 projects. Loki then quickly stung Brokkr's eyelid and blocked his line of sight. Sindri made a hammer of such greatness that never missed its target. Then would boomerang back to its owner after being thrown. But it had one flaw, the handle was short. Sindri said that that had almost ruined the piece.

The hammer was named Mjollnir, but still sure of the great worth of their three treasures , SIndri and Brokkr went to Asgard to claim the wages they were owed to them. Loki then went to the halls of the gods before the brothers and presented the great things he had gotten. To Thor he had gave him Sif's new hair and the hammer Mjonlnir to Odin. As grateful as the gods were to receive these gifts especially Mjolnir. THey still agreed that Loki still owed the brothers his head but not his neck.
