George Washington had a normal
childhood, later served in the army, and

George lived in a farm, in Westmorealand
County. He went to Henry Williams School one
of the best in the colonies. His mom was Mary
ball Washington and his father Augustine
Washington died in 1743. ''Washington was
born on February 22, 1732 on the family
plantation in Westmoreland County, Virginia.''

He was elected to be the commander and chief
of the continental army by the 2nd
Continental congress. He was one of the best
leaders and encouraging. The Battle of
Yorktown was won by the Americans because
the British had surrendered."Washington was
commander in chief of the Continental Army
during the American Revolution, chairman of
the convention that wrote the United States
Constitution, and the first president of the
United States" ("Washington, George" 1-2).

George Washington helped the U.S.A become a self-
governing nation. George Washington made a law to
keep America neutral when France and England went
to war, although the Americans owed debt to France
for helping us in the war. He was democratic ,he
wanted to give people liberty.''On Feb. 4, 1789, the
electors granted all 69 electoral votes to George
Washington, thereby unanimously electing him as
president of the United States''("Washington,
George" 4).
