Liam is a five year old pre-kindergartner who lives at home with his mom. We will be learning about his typical day and look at his language and cognitive development throughout his day.

"Liam, time to get up sleepy head. We have to get our day started. Let's go potty and get you some breakfast." his mom says. "Mommy I want cereal for breakfast. Are we going to school today?" Liam asks. "Yes we are going to school today." his mom say. "Yay!" Liam exclaims and runs into the bathroom.

*Liam is speaking very clearly to his mother while having a conversation with her.

In the bathroom, Liam goes through his morning routine. He goes potty, washes his hands, brushes his teeth, and gets dressed. He is ready to eat his breakfast and head to school.

Liam ran into the kitchen to get his cereal his mom had ready for him to eat. "Mommy, this is my favorite kind." he says. "I know buddy. Eat up so that we can head to school okay?" his mom says. "Okay mommy." Liam replies.

After he finished all of his breakfast, Liam and his mom gathered up their belongings and headed to the car to go to school. "Ready to go kiddo?" mom asked. "Oh yeah. Mommy, do you think that my friends will be at school?" Liam asks. "I'm sure some of your friends will be there by the time we get there." mom replies. Liam and his mom headed off to school.

*Liam uses future tense by asking if his friends will be at school.

Arriving at school, Liam sees his teacher Miss Stephanie and his friends outside getting ready to walk into school. "Mommy there is Miss Stephanie and my friends. Can I go with them?" Liam asks. "Go ahead buddy. Give me a kiss and hug." mom says. Liam hugs his mom and he runs over to meet Miss Stephanie and his friends.
