I am from a small town,

Full of bars and churches,

Where dust settles on blue collars in the

evening light.

I am from the smell of fresh-baked bread,

Wafting through my window in the early

morning hours-

The Italian bakery around the corner.

I am from loneliness -

From days playing inside,

the other kids unable to understand my spirit.
