Native Americans ate foods which include
- Deer, Turkeys, Shellfish, Eels, Water fowl, Squash, Corn, Beans, And Fish. Other foods were also eaten like fruits and nuts. Depending on the tribe and the area they lived in, Native Americans got their food also by farming, hunting, fishing, and gathering.

Native Americans spoke many different languages. One language the Native Americans spoke was the Navajo language which was the most common. Native Americans also spoke Yupik which was also common. Although many Native Americans today speak English


1 Major Native American Tribe
Natchez Indians
The Natchez were original residents of Mississippi and Louisiana. The Natchez tribe lived in the area of St. Catherine’s Creek, east and south of the present city of Natchez, Mississippi. Others later settled in South Carolina. The Natchez Indians were great hunters, fishers and farmers, growing corn, beans, and squash.




2nd Major Native American Tribe
Choctow Indians
The Choctaw was a tribe of Native American Indians who came from Mexico and the American Southwest. Known for many things like The Green Corn Festival, these people built mounds and lived in a protective society. The Choctaw people lived in settled villages of houses and small cornfields.





3rd Major Native Indian Tribe
Chickasaw Indians
The Chickasaw tribe of northeastern Mississippi were known for their brave, warlike and independent disposition. The Chickasaw Indians were Mississippi's second largest Indian group after the Choctaws. The Chickasaw tribe ate many crops and hunted for meat. Chickasaw men wore a breech cloth , sometimes with leather leggings to protect their legs. Chickasaw women wore wrap around skirts.



One small Native American group
Biloxi
The Biloxi tribe were farming people. Biloxi women did most of the farming harvesting crops . Biloxi men did most of the hunting. The Biloxi tribe are from Louisiana. That is where most Biloxi people live today, though there are still some Biloxidescendants in Mississippi and Alabama as well. Today, the Biloxi tribe lives together with the Tunica tribe.
