Vocabulary
- Physical Feature: Anything that describes the Earth's topography. Examples include, lakes, rivers, volcanoes, plateaus, hills, gulf.
- Landmark: A recognizable natural or man-made feature used for navigation, a feature that stands out from its near environment and is often visible from long distances
Many countries around the world including the United States, Canada and Mexico have important landmarks and distinctive physical features.
Physical Features
Physical features are anything that describes the earth physically, this could include features such as rivers, hills, oceans, plateaus,and mountains.
United States

Physical features across the U.S

Mountains: Rocky Mountatins, Cascade Mountains, Smokey Mountains, San Juan Mountatins
Oceans are also a physical feature in the united states. there are two major oceans around the U.S Atlantic and Pacific


Canada

While there are many physical features of Canada a major one is the Canadian Shield (CS). Also called the Laurentian Plateau the CS is a large area of land that has exposed igneous rock dating back to the Precambrian Era (the earliest part of earth's history.)


Canadian Shield:
Hilly region with lakes and swamps

Another physical feature that Canada has are it's beautiful lakes. Moraine Lake, Great Bear Lake,
Peyto Lake

Mexico

Mexico has a wide variety of physical features including gorgeous blue beaches, dry rocky valleys, and tropical lowlands.


Sandy beaches are beautiful physical features that can be found throughout .
Some beaches in Mexico are Cozumel, Punta Mita, and Isla Mujeres
