Once upon a time there was three vegetables. These vegetables were a carrot, radish, and celery stick.

The vegetables could only grow if they completed a mathematical equation by using the ABC factoring method or completing the square. The carrot especially wanted to be large for he had a dream of being the king of the carrots. But he struggled answering his final equation.

"I wish to be the carrot king, But I can't figure out which strategy to use."
So the carrot set off to find the help of his trusted friend, the radish. The radish was a expert at completing the square.
"Now if I have x^2 - 10x + 25=0 I know my a would be 1, my b would be -10, and my c would be 25. Now I have to factor a times c, that would give me 1x25=25. So I know that 5 times 5 equals 25, but how do i get it equal -10? I have to make both 5's negative. Now I must divide by a , which is 1, and that leaves me with (x-5) (x-5). So my X mus equal 5!"

Now the Carrot also had a friend who was a wiz at solving quadratic equations with his brilliant quadratic formula. His name was Mr.Celery.

"Ah ha! If my equation is 3x^2-x=3 I most definitely can use my quadratic formula of x= -b + or - square root of b^2-4ac divided by 2a. First I must get the 3 to the other side of the equation so i will subtract 3 from both sides of the equal sign. OK now I have 3x^2-x-3=0. I know my a is 3, my b is -1, and my c is -3. Now to use my wonderful formula! So x= 1 + or - the square root of (-1)^2 - -4(3)(-3) divided by 2(3). That should give me x= 1 + or - the square root of 1+ 36 divided by 6. Now to add and I will have x=1 + or - the square root of 37 divided by 6. Oh how I love my quadratic formula!!!!"
