











This afternoon, Fred the Fish, Mike the Mouse, Henry the Hedgehog, and Billy the Bird are gathering for lunch.

















They have six bananas, three oranges, and one watermelon to share. They have to figure out how to split all of the food into equal parts.

















There are four animals who need to eat. There are six bananas. Each animal can eat one banana and there will be two left over. If the animals are still hungry, they can split up the leftovers too.

There are three oranges. That is not enough for each animal to have a whole orange. If they cut two oranges in half, each animal can eat one half of an orange. There will be one whole orange left over.

There is one watermelon. The animals can cut the watermelon into four equal pieces. Therefore, each animal can eat one fourth of the watermelon. They almost started eating, until...

...the animals heard a loud knock at the door. They answered it to find their friends Catie the Cat and Doug the Dog! Now, they must figure out how to split the food into equal parts all over again.
