This book is dedicated to Jesus.

In 63 B.C. the Romans had taken over Judea, at this time that's where most of the Jewish people lived.

The Jewish people didn't like that the Romans took their city. They rebelled and thought that another king, sent by God, would soon appear and send people to freedom.



















Four years later, The Romans defeated the Rebels, took over Jerusalem, and destroyed the Jewish Temple. When People tried to fight back the Romans also destroyed Jerusalem.













As more conflict broke out in Judea, a new religion, Christianity, began among the Jewish People.













It started with the followers of a Jewish man named Jesus. People are familiar with Jesus through the bible.

Jesus's teachings were put it into the Jewish tradition. In Jesus's teachings he believe in one God and accepted the Ten Commandments.

















according to his followers he called himself the son of God, many people believe he was a long-anticipated messiah.
*A messiah is a a leader or savior of a particular group.*
Jesus emphasized God’s love and taught the need for justice, morality, and service to others.



According to the Gospels, Jesus traveled to Jerusalem near the time of the Jewish festival of Passover.

*gospels- the teaching or revelation of Christ.*
To the Roman authorities, Jesus was a threat because his speeches could inflame those eager to end the roman rule.
