I would like to dedicate this book to my nephew Jay Jones Barber. Jay I want to take this time to say that you're such a special little boy and you bring so much joy into our lives.

Just Like Me
When I look in the mirror what do I see?
I see me, but I look different from everyone else.

There was a little boy named Brandon, Brandon was different and everyone could tell. Brandon had to use crutches to get around due to a spinal condition.

Brandon attended school just like the other boys and girls in his neighbor. The other children would stare at Brandon as he passed by, Brandon would put his head down as he walked by.
During recess time, Brandon would sit on the bench as the other children played.

Brandon enjoyed reading and being outdoors. He was afraid of joining in with others because he thought they wouldn't like him.

On the way home from school, Brandon shared bus seats with John. John would always invite Brandon to join in and play with the other children.

After getting home from school, Brandon would do his homework, then sit by the window and watch the other children play.

One day as John was outside playing, he noticed Brandon sitting in the window. John waved his hands and invited Brandon to come join him. Brandon shook his head no.
