Introduction to Probiotics & Prebiotics

The first day of the meeting began with icebreaker activities and a school tour. The partners got acquainted with each other through the activities and then went to the conference hall for the seminar.

Presentations about Microbiota

The seminar began with the students’ presentations about their school and Microbiota. After the students’ presentations Mrs Şaduman Karaca who is a specialist in alternative medicine gave a lecture about Gut Health. She told about Microbiota and gut flora. The presentation was a holistic approach to the health of Microbiota.

After the conference the partners had their lunch together at school. The lunch was organized by teachers of school and the menu was included with traditional Turkish food.

In the afternoon there was a sauerkraut workshop by Mrs. Şaduman Karaca. She told how to ferment sauerkraut and also told  the benefits of consuming it.

The Erasmus students of school also took part in the workshop. The partners were interested in the workshop and they also took part in fermenting. 

The second day of the meeting began with a lecture by Dr. Savaş Ertufan.

He gave a lecture about Microbiota and told how our digestion system works. He also told us how good and bad bacterias affect our gut flora and about the brain and gut connection.

The students and the teachers asked their questions after he finished his lecture. Not only the students of erasmus club took part in the seminar but also the students from different grades took part.

After the lecture the partners had lunch at school and in the afternoon they enjoyed the workshop with Arts teacher on Ebru technique and made their own Ebru works.

At the end of the day the headmaster Mr. Ramazan Çoban gave the partners their Certificate of Attendance and some presents as a souvenir. 

On the third day of the meeting, the team had a city tour. All the partners enjoyed visiting the most famous tourist attractions.
