Once upon a time, in a magical world . . .

There was a legend of how the forest had come to exist.

This forest had been enchanted centuries before by a magic cloud, known as Photosynthesis.

I am Photosynthesis! I am a cloud!

Photosynthesis had only one purpose - to create solar energy into chemical energy. It could not do this on its own.

It needed to use something else to channel its power.

At this time, animals and humans had yet to exist. It was only plants that flourished on a silent Earth. Plants were unable to speak and their roots were firmly planted into the soil, from the beginning to the end of their existence.

Since plants had not yet evolved, Photosynthesis turned to Carbon Dioxide, an dark cloud that surrounded the Earth.

Hey, CO2! Can you do me a favor?

Photosynthesis instructed CO2 to fill up the plants, trees, and bushes that grew all over the Earth.
