Internet and Social Media to Enhance Social-Emotional Learning

About the project:The project aims to make social and emotional learning authentic for students from 5 European countries. SEL is essential to a child's development, as it directly impacts happiness and success as a grown-up.
Interacting with peers with different cultural background provides authentic opportunities to develop social and emotional skills in ways that in-class activities can’t.
AIMS-to encourage positive peer social interactions
-to develop social and emotional competencies - self-awareness, self management
and emotion regulation, social awareness, relationship and social skills, responsible decision making
-to promote the of ICT for learning and educational purposes
EXPECTED RESULTS:We will create on Twinspace a page to share the resources created by our pupils during the project.
The tools and resources will improve students SEL skills and encourage them to exhibit positive social behaviours.
Working with in a multicultural team will contribute to increase cultural knowledge, mutual respect, understanding and reducing stereotypes.

Our organization was established in 2017 and located in county named Gülşehir near province Nevşehir. Our school offer both general education compulsory secondary school and high school education.
There are 176 students (ages 11- 18)17 teachers in our school. Nearly % 80 percent of our students are from rural areas, small villages less serviced, have no chance of making academic education, have educational difficulties and they are children in families with low socio-economic level and low standard of living. The school successfully combines opportunities for formal, informal education and after school activities. Thus established several school clubs and projects have established that offer extracurricular activities in the arts, sports, projects and workshop workings to provide equal opportunities and to develop their key skills.
Our teachers and students are volunteer to participate twinning projects .We believe that etwinning projects enable developing some vital skills such as international communication,language,social,dijital and co-operation skills
I am Berat ,Our teacher told us project then introduced twinspace.
He tought us how to edit twinspace and some web programs.We edited on padlet what we did und what we knew about the project.We create logo using canva app,puzzles using jigsaw app,learning activities using learning app,videos and padlet pages etc.

I am Ayşe,We are doing puzzles created by partner students.We learned puzzles web programs and creating puzzles.

Turkish team created puzzles and added to twinspace and other partner teams created puzzless .We do puzzles our friends sometimes in break times,sometimes at the end of the lesson.



I am Bedir,
We performed survey about the "internet and social media habits" among the partners .We created different questions to research internet and SoMe habits .Then we analyze it using google survey program.
Finally,we added the survey and results on twinspace.



I am Şeyma,
we have created different project items and joined them.
Our team share our workings on twinspace.

I am Dilan,
Our teacher organized online meeting with Romanian and Polish peers.
We chated them.İt was very good experience.

Şcoala Gimnazială Romanu is located in Romanu village Brăila.
Brăila is a city in Muntenia, eastern Romania, a port on the Danube and the capital of Braila county.
This is a part of our team.




The 6th graders made a research about the partner countries involved in this project.





Then we discovered how to use online tools for creating games.



The 8th graders used the information collected by their mates from the 6th grade and they created a Kahoot! game.

Jaunpiebalgas vidusskola

Jaunpiebalga Secondary school, founded in 1946, is the only one school in Jaunpiebalga territory. Around 350 pupils, aged 2-19, study in our school and 52 teachers work here. The school is directed by the headteacher Arnis Ratiņš. Our school is a modern school. Jaunpiebalga Secondary school is divided in two separate buildings. One building is for kindergarten, pre-school and first four grades. The Second building is for grades 5-12. All classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards and a laptop computers or whiteboards and computers. We have a large computer room, three foreign language classrooms, and a large and equipped gym.
Our school offers qualitative education due to educational programmes. There are implemented 6 educational programmes in Jaunpiebalga Secondary school: Pre-school educational programme, two programmes are for secondary education-General secondary education, Math, Science and technology programme. General basic education programme and also 2 different programmes for pupils with special needs. Students are learning two foreign languages- English and Russian.
The school operates
There are also great opportunities to learn in non-formal education that provides our school. We have Young Guards organization, career choice. There are two more programmes in non-formal education- Environmental education programme and Environmental creative workshop. Our school is one of the first 10 Health Promoting schools in Latvia since 1993. Our strengths are: development of inner and outer environment, good and healthy relationships at school.
. We offer a variety of sports activities like football, basketball, rugby, volleyball, floor ball, orientating, etc. folk dances, ensembles, chorus, rhythm group, art, music, IT, tourism, etc. Our school has taken part in all Youth song and dance festivals of Latvia. Our health promoting programme is actively supported by parents, local authority, business people and society.
