The marriage age of Belkıs, the beautiful daughter of the Aspendos king, has arrived. Many young men volunteered to marry this beautiful princess and eroded the palace door. In the king, he started planning to marry his daughter and retire himself with a smart, valiant teenager who would deserve his beloved daughter and organized a competition among the suitors. He announced that he would marry the young girl who did the most useful work for Aspendos in the competition all over the country.


All the youngsters in love with their daughter who intend to get married have begun to show their skills. Those who can write poetry wrote compliments on behalf of the city, composers sang songs, sculptors filled the city with sculpture, and gardeners were decorated with flowers. Architects built fountains and bridges


And finally the day of the contest has ended, the king has listened to poetry and songs, and his gardens and streets are entangled. Finally he stood in front of an aqueduct. This aqueduct carried water to the city and protected it from drought and provided it with fertile soil. When the king was about to decide that this was the most useful structure, Belkıs Kız came and asked his father to see another building.
