The Easter Bunny
The Easter Bunny (also called the Easter Rabbit or Easter Hare) is a rabbit bringing Easter eggs and is a typical symbol of Easter in the U.K. The tradition comes from Germany. The rabbit originally played the role of a judge and, like Santa Claus at Christmastide, found out whether children were good or disobedient. The Easter Bunny carries coloured eggs in his basket, candy and toys to the homes of children.

Hot Cross Buns
A hot cross bun is a spiced sweet bun usually made with fruit, marked with a cross on the top. It was traditionally eaten on Good Friday but nowadays it is eaten throughout the Easter season and even all year round in some places.
The bun marks the end of Lent. The cross on its top represents the crucifixion of Jesus and the spices inside signify the spices used to embalm Christ at his burial.

Easter eggs
Easter eggs are a very old tradition . Eggs symbolize new life and represent rebirth. In the past they used real, hard-boiled eggs dyed or painted in various colors and patterns. The traditionally bright colors represented spring and light. Nowadays they have been replaced by chocolate eggs, usually hollow and filled with sweets.

Egg hunt
The egg hunt is the ultimate Easter game for families. Easter eggs are hidden around the house or in the garden and children try to find them. The eggs are hidden by the Easter Bunny. The children typically collect the eggs in a basket. In the end there are prizes for finding the most eggs or the biggest or the smallest ones.

Egg jarping
Egg jarping or egg tapping or egg boxing or egg chucking is a traditional Easter game.
Two players smash hard-boiled eggs together and whoever has the egg that is intact in the end is the winner. There are official jarping rules and World Jarping Championships are held each Easter in England.

The Nutters' Dance
One of the strangest traditions takes place in the village of Bacup, Lancashire on Easter Sunday. It is an odd parade of 8 men dressed strangely with clogs(wooden shoes), red and white skirts, black trousers and shirts. They dance their way through the village and drink a pint of beer in every pub they stop. They say their dance drives away evil spirits. Their faces are painted black, which is something that makes some people object to it because they consider it to be racist. However, some say that this is just a type of mask and it symbolically protects the dancers from demons.
