It was a warm and sunny day in Chicago, and Brooklynn was enjoying her family being home.

Brooklynn's school had closed down but she didn't mind because she really liked having both her mommy and daddy at home. Her teachers told her that there were too many germs in the air and they had to take a break so that everyone could get better.

Brooklynn was sitting in her living room with her mommy and daddy when her Daddy got a call from his boss. She heard her parents talking after he got off the phone and she saw him packing a bag. She didn't know why he was packing a bag but it made her very sad because she knew it meant he would be leaving.

Brooklynn's Daddy set his bag on the kitchen counter and called her over to talk to her. He said, "Daddy has to leave to go on a secret mission and I don't know when I will be back. I need you to be strong and help mommy until I can come back. Do you think you can do that for me?" Through tears, Brooklynn said, "Yes Daddy, I will try but I am going to miss you so much." He said, "I know sweetie, and I will miss you too."

I miss my Daddy so much.

The sun was no longer shining in Chicago, and suddenly it got very cold and dark. Brooklynn was very sad that she had to say goodbye to her Daddy and she didn't know when he would be back. She knew she still had her mommy but even mommy was sad. What would she do while Daddy was gone?
