




This is the story of some English teachers who are trying to teach English using 4 skills.
Ayla Bahşi / Sandıklı Zübeyde Hanım Vocational And Technical Anatolian High School / NARRATOR GÜLBEYAZ U.
Once upon a time, there was an English teacher in Sandıklı,Afyon. She wanted her students to use 4 skills while learning English. So, she and one of her colleagues started a new e twinning project. She was the coordinator.They shared knowledge and their experiences. Web 2.0 tools were at the center so the students learnt new aspects of technology.



The activities included reading, writing, listening and speaking.While they were learning English using four skills, they didn't forget their values. The most enjoyable activity was karaoke song fest and the tongue twister competition. All of the school loved it very much. They decided to go on for the following years. Even when they couldn't go to their schools because of Covıd 19 virus ,they didn't give up studying.They went on with online meetings.



Students were from all over Turkey from Tekirdağ to Van. It was an amazing experience for all of them to meet other students and know each other. They started their project with a logo contest. So each school created their own logos for the project. And voting was the most exciting part.

Students and teachers knew how to be an eTwinner, winning was not the most important part, it was sharing and feeling the collaboration among them. They brought all the school logos in one poster to express this feeling.

eTwinners having a lovely project logo used them in all project products. Then our eTwinners decided prepare eTwinning corners at their schools to increase the visibility of their project activities and reach larger audience. After that, students thought that they should also know each other better and did it in a funny way. And, they decided to introduce themselves by various WEB2.0 tools.




Our eTwinners were full of love for every living creature. They wanted to do something for their loyal friends, "animals". They cared for animals; prepared bulletin boards to display their love for animals; they even fed them and even prepared videos to raise awareness of them. All eTwinners promoted the idea that "eTwinning is caring and sharing".




Z.Elif Eser- Elazığ Cemil Meriç Science High School

After the students did something for the animals it was time for to prepare 29th October Republic Day. Students came together to prepare a board at school. They brought their own colorful papers,crayons and other stationery stuff that would be necessary for the board. They also prepared some sayings using Web 2.0 tools.




They designed sun on which Atatürk's principles were written on the lights. They hanged the posters on the very visible side of the school so that a lot of students could see and learn the principles in English.

Then the November which was an important time for Turkısh Natıon came. The great leader, the Commander-in-Chief of the War of Independence, the founder of our Republic, our first President Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s 81st death anniversary was on the 10th of November. The English 4 U eTwinners started to prepare a bulletın includıng Atatürk’s features in a wordcloud using blockposter web2.0 tools.



They also met with their great leader in an augmented reality tool. It was a fantastıc actıvıty. The pupils had emotional times while taking photos with their Great Leader Atatürk. The students prepared some Atatürk’s quotes and used them in their photos. This augmented reality activity not only attracted the etwinners’ attention but also attracted the whole school’s . In every class the students have taken photos with Atatürk and shared them in groups that is what the Etwinning projects aim to achieve. After this time, English 4 you etwinning bulletin board was followed by more students as they have been curious about what the next months’ activity will be.




Aslıhan Güneş - Erbaa Yılmaz Kayalar Science High School(Dubbed by Zehra Y.)



After finishing the activities related to 10th November-Commemoration of Atatürk, English 4U Team started working on 24th November-Teachers Day. They designed bookmarks from tongue depressors which were painted colourfully and decorated with handmade drawings and beads. They were so excited to see their teachers' reactions when they gave them. It was a great pleasure for them to prepare so unique presents for their beloved teachers.
They also wrote letters for their teachers and gave them one by one on this special day. The letters were unforgettable as they wrote their feelings and memories. It was worth to see the happiness in their faces while giving these special presents to their teachers. On this very special day, we prepared a Teachers Day program consisting of poems,oratorio and videos. At the end of the program, all the students sang the song' Senden Daha Güzel' which filled our eyes with tear. It was a really big surprise for all of us.

We did great activities together by this time and after the Teacher's Day, time finally came for The Local Food Day. The aim of supporting The Local Food Day was to celebrate local production and draw attention to health that's why we organized an activity to celebrate it together. Every one of the studentS in our project brought local food with them. In all our project schools, all over the country..
We shared, learned, ate and that was so fun like any other activity of the project




At the national product week,we wanted students feel more motivated and fun ,we wanted them watch a movie.By selecting these movies we also asked students’ ideas.Some of the films are Dead Poets Society,Choro,Wonder ,3 Idiots etc.By watching the film, the students got more interested and familiar at the target language.They also ate the local foods they brought.

We also made warm up activities before and after the film.We asked what could film be about,where and when it takes place.While watching the film,we stopped at some scenes and asked about students’ opinions.After the film we made some group discussions.The aim of movie time activity was to make students listen,watch and use the target language.

It was New Year’s time We were all excited and hopeful. New Year means a fresh start and a break time for us to look back and evaluate the previous year; making new decisions and making some wishes for our lives and for the whole world.





Our task for the New Year was sending post cards to the new friends from different partner schools. When I told this to my students I realized that they had never seen a post card. I gave information about that tradition which was about to be forgotten. After that we prepared our postcards and sent them. Our students were excited as they would make new friends. They were accustomed to instant messages so they experienced waiting for a reply for days patiently and excitedly.
Some of us designed special stamps for our cards and some of us sent little surprise gifts with our cards. But our coordinator Ayla BAHŞİ surprized all of us. She sent her poetry book to each partner school by signing with our names. It was really a nice memory for us.


EMİNE GÖÇMEN SANDIKLI ANATOLIAN RELIGIOUS HIGH SCHOOL
We were meeting on the net nearly everyday.We asked lots of questions about films , cards,web2 .0 tools...etc.We went to our school and delivered the cards by hand.We met new students.
We arranged Kahoot activity.We used Kahoot application.We had permission to use the phones in the classrooms.In some schools;we couldn't let.Because the principal didn't let
the students do it.But we didn't feel fear.We told the principle why we used the phones in the class and how we used the activity by using the application.We told him that it was eTwinning work.We also used the smart boards and the teacher's phone.
The students were active and energetic.So Kahoot was a great interactive activity.They thought in English, investigated new words,gathered the clues.
KAHOOT What does English 4u project teach us?
Actually many things ,but the most enjoyable one of them is Kahoot, game- based learning platform that makes it easy to create ,share, play learning games and trivia quizzes in minutes.It brings joy anytime ,anywhere for students, teachers life long learners etc. at school ,home ,parties, companies etc. It works for any subject in any language on any device .As a school and project team, we spend wonderful time with our students in lessons and break times playing Kahoot. We held games and had lots of fun. We created our own Kahoot game English 4u. Kahoot learning games make our learning awesome .

TONGUE TWİSTER Sentences,expressions which were really difficult to say properly ,especially when we tried to say them quickly with our students in the classrooms as a competition but it was great fun.

After our students had great time with Kahoot, it was the time for another enjoyable activity, Tongue Twisters. We prepared our colorful Tongue Twisters boards at our schools.All the students, teachers and even school staff had fun while they were trying to read Tongue Twisters on the board.



It was very challenging in the beginning, but as we let our tongues twist, it turned into an amazing activity for everybody. In the end of the activity, as teachers we were happy because our students' interest and motivations towards using English and our project had increased. Tongue Twisters took its place among the other unforgettable activities we did before.






And now it's time for all of us to have fun while learning our target language with music. We organized an awesome Karaoke Song Contest at our schools and prepared lovely prizes for the winners of the competition. The students participated the event on their own or with their friends in other words in groups. It is important to be able to carry a tune and sing. While they were singing their songs, the listeners and jury were silent in order to choose the best singer/s :)






Güllü Altındal Oruç - Aydın Hıgh School
We chose the 'best' singer at the competition. By means of our Karaoke Song Contest we learnt that the best way to practice English is to sing karaoke. The students memorized the lyrics of the songs and performed their songs perfectly in front of the audience and the judges. With this activity they not only learnt to sing but also developed stage presence. Eventually, we had great fun...
