Prologue

    I am NEVER doing that again. It was thrilling, but NEVER again. So maybe I am getting a little ahead of myself. My name is Celestine Rodriguez, this is my diary, and my life is as normal as it gets. I live in a suburban neighborhood with hundreds of identical houses and I have three siblings. 

    It absolutley shocked me when I woke up one day in a completly different place. Everything was gone and the fact that Rachel's room was suspended on a cloud in midair just about put me overboard, because a normal 13 year old girl can NOT handle that!

    Chapter One

    "Wahhhh!" that is the sound I wake up to EVERY SINGLE DAY. At least since Camila was born. When I first found out the baby would be a girl I was thrilled, but that was until I learned that baby Camila's cry from dawn to dusk. My brother Johnny-Jordan (JJ) was 14 and told me girls cry more than boys and I guess he's right cause I have never heard Jamie (We just call him Jr.) cry in my life and he is EIGHT. 

    "Jhonny-Jordan get Camila! And Celestine get some bacon and eggs on the stove!" said my mom.

     " 'Kay Mom!" yelled JJ back and he rushed out without changing or brushing is teeth. Boys, right. 

    "Breakfast will be ready in ten." I said. I threw on a purple shirt and overalls, brushed my teeth and hair, and splashed some water on my face.

    "Extra bacon please." said Jamie sleepily as I passed his and Jhonny-Jordans room.

    " 'Kay Jr." I said and rushed past his room, my parents room, and Camila's. I got some bacon on the stove then I got some eggs. 

    "What type of eggs do ya want!" I yelled.

    "Scrambled!"

    "Omelet!"

   "Over easy honey." 

    I sighed just my normal day.

Can we have a sleepover?

Uh IDK, i'll ask my mom. BRB

OK..... Did she say yes?

Yes, but I have 2 bring Jamie. Is that OK?

Sure, he's so cute. Bring a pillow and a toothbrush,  PJ's, a change of clothes and your phone. c u soon.

Chapter 2

    "Jamie!" I yelled, " Get a toothbrush, pillow, pajamas, a pair of clean clothes and your book and ipad so you aren't bored." I didn't wait for an answer and went straight to packing. I jammed everything into my backpack along with a few sweets and ran out the front door pausing to say bye to mom. Jamie was already there. 

    "Slow-poke." he said.

    "Just get your bike Jr." I said as I grabbed my bike. Jamie grabbed his to and we set of to Rachel's house. It took us about a ten minute ride to get there.

    I rang the doorbell and we waited for a few seconds. A dag barked then another one and another one. 

    "Coming!" yelled Rachel. She opened the door a few seconds later. "Hi," she said breathlessly, "Sorry about the dogs."

    "It's ok." I said. Rachel had five dogs and there names were Roger a bulldog who belonged to Rachel's oldest 17 year old brother. Ripper a chiuahuah who belonged to her 16 year old brother. Waffles a Golden Retriever who belonged to her 14 year old brother. Thunder a Husky who belonged to Rachel. And finally Caramel a German Sheperd who belonged to her 8 year old sister. "I like dogs."

    She led us up to her room and told us where we would be sleeping. We got unpacked and Jamie went to find Rebecca, Rachels little sister.

     We talked a little, then went down to eat dinner. After dinner we ate the candy, played on our phones, talked more, watched TV and played with Thunder. At ten Rachels mom came to our room.

    "Lights out in 30 minutes girls, Jamie is already ready for bed." Jamie stumbled into the room and dropped into his sleeping bag.

    "Okay," we said in unison. We brushed teeth took turns showering, and put on PJ's.

    "Night Rachel, Jamie." I yawned.

    "Night Celestine." said Rachel. I turned over in my sleeping bag and fell asleep immedietly.

    I woke up to shrill screaming. Ugh, Camila again, I thought. But this didn't sound like Camila, it sounded like Rachel.

    "Wa's wrong." I mumbled sleepily. I saw Jamie staring around then his eyes went wide and he fell back into his sleeping bag. He had fainted! But when I saw what he was looking at I almost fainted too. Rachel was screaming because we were on a CLOUD. I timidly looked over the side.

    "What happened." said Rachel sitting on her bed with Thunder.        I don't kno-ahhhhhhhhhh!!!" I screamed. Jamie had sat up and his arm had knocked into my back sending me toppling off of the cloud. I closed my eyes ready to die. But strangley I couldn't feel the air rushing past me. And Rachel was screaming again. 

    "You okay?" said a guy's voice. I looked up and saw a guy he looked about 15 and looked like one of those surfer dudes in magazines.

Then my hands brushed a scaly surface and I realized I was on a dragon! It was Blue with gold horns and spikes. 

    "Wha-whats your n-name." I stammered. My stomach plummeting with every flap of the wing the dragon made. By then Rachel, Jamie, and Thunder had made there way to the edge of the cloud. 

    "My name's Kyle and I'm an elf." Suddenly I could see his pointed ears, green streaks in his hair, and his bow and arrow slung behind his back. "Oh and hey Thunder."

    "Hello to you too." spoke a deep, booming voice.

    "Th-th-thunder," cried Rachel, "you can talk! Celestine, get of that dragon, it's dangerous!"

    "It's okay," said Thunder "I am a moonlight wolf. A sacred servant of the moonlight council member. I have been looking after Rachel and it seems she is the chosen one for the task. But I allowed her to bring along friends for support."

"Yes, of course, you told me." Kyle, noticing are puzzled faces added, "Through telepathy of course." We just stared. Finally to break the silence Thunder leapt onto the dragon's back.

    "Long time, no see Tiny." said Thunder talking to the...Dragon!

    "Not amusing," said the dragon "my name is Golden-Tassel and I suggest you kids get on or else you will be stranded on this cloud forever. Not all dragons are nice like me.

    We were about to protest, but they did have a point. Jamie and Rachel seemed to have come to the same conclusion, so they reluctantly hopped on too.

    "I'm glad ya'll came to your senses." said Kyle "To Fantasy City Golden-tassel!" Golden-tassel roared and we were off. As we soared flew over mountains, rivers, valleys and more I felt more and more excited and thrilled. I was about to say something when a pegasus flew by us.

    "Whats with the load Golden-tassel." she shouted as she flew by gracefully flapping her wings. 

    "It's her," he said nodding at Rachel "Thunder found her. You just came back from the peace meeting with the unicorns?"

    The pegasus nodded and flew past murmering something about insufferable fancy pansy unicorns. And I always thought unicorn and pegasi got along.    

    Eventually we saw a giant skyline with the tallest skyscrapers, petite little cottages, and even houses and stables floating in midair. As we got closer I wish I could tell you that I started make out fairies and pegasi flying in and out of the floating houses. Then I could see the tiniest little gnomes and a few elves in the cottages. Then I saw dragons flying low in the city transporting elves and gnomes. But it was empty.

    "Why is it so quiet and empty and sad." said Jamie quietly.

    "The mortalty illness." said Kyle bitterly. "If a fantasy creature catches it they will fade and be forgotton from all of the fairytales."

   "Us Moonlight wolves are imune to it," said Thunder "but it is pixies who carry it. They will last longer if they catch the virus too. Anyway I see the palace." Golden-tassel swooped down and landed in front of the palace.

    "Good luck Rachel and friends, a great task awaits you." and with that Golden-tassel took off into the sky."

    "What is all this chosen one stuff." said Rachel looking just as confused as I felt.

    "The elf queen shall explain all of it." said Kyle in a matter-o-factly tone. Kyle led us threw an extensive passage hall. The ceiling was completly glass and you could see the sky above. As the corridor widened up I saw a throne with peacocks strutting around it and in the giant throne sat a 15 year old girl.

    "Wow," she said in a bored voice "you found the girl who is supposed to cure the illness." Kyle and Thunder looked a little frustrated but they bowed anyway, we followed in suit.

    "Yes, but princess where is the queen." said Kyle.

    "Caught the illness and is in her bed right now, so I'm queen for now."

    "Excuse me," said Rachel "but what am I supposed to do."

    "Oh right, so I have to tell you what to do and stuff," said the princess "So the only cure is to drink water that has a petal of a starlight flower in it. But only one person can pick a starlight flower and that is you Rachel. So you have to journey through mountains, face many hardships, blah blah blah and pick the flower from a rock in the middle of a beautiful waterfall. The End."

    "Uh, yes," said Kyle "That is what you are supposed to do. But you must do it in 8 days. For that is how long the queen has to survive. And you must also bring Jamie, Celestine, and Thunder."

    Rachel looked a bit overwhelmed. Oh I have'nt told you how we look. Rachel has dark blue almost purple eyes and wavy black hair. Me and Jamie both have straight brown hair and brown eyes. "Okaaay," said Rachel "So we just walk there get the flower done?"

    "No," said Kyle, "Thunder knows the way he will guide you but you will have to fight of trolls, witches, and evil dragons. But you need something to help you. Rachel you love to read don't you?"

    "Yes," said Rachel "why?"

    "Here is book and if you are the chosen one it should work." he handed Rachel a book.

    "And Celestine, your like to draw, right?" said Kyle.

    "Yeah?" I said and how did he know I liked to draw?

    "Here is a paintbrush," said Kyle handing me a paintbrush "draw anything you need with it, but it will only work five times. And last Jamie, you can have a bow and arrow. It does not hurt though it only heals. I can only provide you with only 10 arrows though use them wisely and here is a pouch you can only open when you need it most."

    "Thank you" we said in unison though Rachel looked confused.

    "What do I do with my thing?" said Rachel.

    "You'll figure it out." said Kyle.

    "Let us go. Goodbye princess and Kyle" said Thunder and without a backward glance we were off on our journey, the princesses bored stare and Kyle's sad smile our only goodbye."

    "Well," suggested Rachel, "if it's ok with Celestine, she could use one of her drawings to draw instructions for my book and maybe we could get food and water." For a second I thought about saying no, that this paintbrush was mine, but what was I thinking!

    "Great idea!" I said. I took out the paintbrush and drew a parchment paper with the words "Instructions to Magical Book". Miraculasly words appeared on it.

    "There are only one story in the book, but I just have to say a line from the book and it will actually happen." said Rachel excitedly.

    "But not right now," said Thunder solemly "we have reached the three-spear mountains." In front of us was a wide ten miles of jagged terain and in the distance I could make out a pack of goblins coming right at us.

    The goblins had green skin and slimy black stringy hair. They carried clubs and were about as tall as Jamie. Jamie hid behind Thunder. I stood ready to draw something if I needed to even if I only had 4 drawings left. Rachel pulled out her book and started muttering. 

    "The Percy Jackson, the lightning thief, are you kidding me," said  Rachel flipped through the book looking for a good sentence. "Perfect 'White birds wings sprouted out of the heels of the shoes' that should do it look at your feet everyone!" On my feet where white sneakers with birds wings on it. Rachel, Jamie, and I lifted into the air and flew like we could do all our lifes.

    "Help!" shouted Thunder "I am not made for this." Thunder was spiraling comically through the air.

    "I can make them stop, Thunder!" yelled Rachel "but you'll have to get past them!" The goblins were only 100 meters away.

    "The moon is coming up," roared Thunder "just do it I am at my strongest right now!" The goblins were only 25 meters away.

    "The wings flapped around until the wings folded up and disapeared." yelled Rachel. The Goblins threw the clubs at Thunder just as the wings disapeared and Thunder fell downward. He became a blur as he curled into a ball and rammed at the goblins. But there were to many. A few got knocked over but they clambered on him smashing with there clubs. I knew I had to use one of my drawings. I drew an explosion that only threw back the goblins and pointed it down. An explosion boomed so loudly it almost broke my eardrums and threw me backwards.

     When I stopped spinning through the air I saw Jamie already flying down to Thunder. Me and Rachel flew down next to him. Thunder looked bruised and banged up all over.

    "I should use an arrow, shouldn't I." said Jamie.

    " Do it." I said. Rachel nodded encouragingly. Jamie shot an arrow and a golden glow spread over Thunder.

    "I'm good" mumbled Thunder. He rolled over and got up. "Got to rest." Then he fell asleep.

    "We should go to bed." said Rachel "Aha! 'I didn't realize how tired I was until I collapsed into my borrowed sleeping bag. I'll take first watch." In front of the three of us were lumpy blue sleeping bags, but I did'nt care where I slept. I crept into my sleeping bag and fell asleep instantly.

Chapter 4

    "Wake up sleepy-head."

    "Goo Mornin'." I said groggily. "Hey is that you Thunder, your okay!"

    "Yes I'm good," said Thunder "The moon helped me heal faster plus you needed someone to keep watch. Rachel 'read' some food for you guys." I got up, went to the stream washed my face and arms and went to rachel to ask for a toothbrush.

    "Doesn't really have toothbrushes in this book, plus I was reading the insructions more and it says it will only last until 5 days from now!" replied Rachel.

    "Wake up!" whisper-shouted Thunder. "Get the others awake to." I got up it was still dark. I shook Jamie, then Rachel.

    "What is it?" said Jamie

    "Montain Giant" said Thunder "Remeber this they have terrible vision, but perfect hearing." At that the mountain giant that was probably 20 feet tall and a mile away turned at Thunders voice.

    "Hooman?" it said in the loudest voice you could imagine "Hooman!" He thundered toward us. Jamie put on the flying shoes and got his bow and sword ready in case someone got hurt. Rachel got her book and sword ready and I took my paintbrush and my gymnast skills, I had always loved gymnastics. The giant was ten meters away 5, 1.

    "Lets do this." I shouted.

    I flipped into the air and kicked the giant in the knee. He raored and stumbled. Rachel drove her sword into the giants feet over and over. Thunder bit him in every place he could reach, which was a lot since he could jump 15 feet into the air. But the giants skin healed so fast we could'nt keep up. Eventually it kicked Rachel 15 feet into the air before she landed. Jamie sent a arrow flying at her. She got up and ran back to do more. As I sent a flying kick the giant grabbed me. It pulled me toward his mouth. I had to draw something fast.

    "Yuck, your breath smells horrible." I screamed.

    "Thats it!" said Thunder "Of course, you have to hit it from the inside, out." I tried to get out my sword, but the smell was making me faint. 

    "For Celestine!" somebody yelled, then I fainted.

    The sun was just rising when I woke up. "She's awake!" someone shouted. I got up feeling as if I could run a marathon. 

    "What happened, we have to get going, only 6 days left!"I shouted.

    "Calm down," said Jamie "I threw my sword in the giants mouth and he fell over and dropped you 20 feet. I had to use 2 arrows and I only have six left. And Thunder says mountain giant breath is poisoness." I ate a little something and insisted we keep going. They finally obliged and we walked until we got to troll bridge. The bridge was half a mile long and there was no way we could swim across.

    "We can use the shoes!" I said. 

    "Sorry they disapeared." said Rachel "Right after Jamie landed."

    "Well say the sentence again." I said. 

    "You can only say the sentence once." said Rachel "Sorry!" Rachel started toward the bridge with Thunder and Jamie on her tail. They were very close to it to close.

    "No," I shouted "There are more than you think, I can feel it!" But they were too close. A dozen trolls started toward them. Surrounding them. They couldn't fight them all. I knew what I had to do. I took out my paintbrush and drew. I will never forget the looks of surprise on the giants faces and my friends looks of awe. I swooped down on my magic carpet and grabbed Jamie's hand, while the other to jumped on. The trolls tried to grab onto the carpet but we were to high.

    "Look the carpets starting to shimmer!" said Jamie. I knew it was going to dissapear soon. I swooped down to the other side of the bridge jumping the last three feet as it disapeared.
