Primates are a group of mammals.
This group includes monkeys, lemurs, lorises, apes, bushbabies, etc.
Humans are also classified as primates.
What are primates?
Fun fact: there is only a 1.2% genetic difference between humans and chimpanzees.

Primates have a simple stomach, colon, large intestine, and a long small intestine.
They digest their food by passing fiber through their stomach and small intestine, and into their hindgut.
Then cellulolytic bacteria degrades some of the fiber.
Monkeys regurgitate their food and re-chew it to make it easier for the bacteria to break it down.
Primates Digestion
Hindgut- the posterior part of the alimentary canal, like their colon.
Cellulolytic Bacteria- create useable sugar by enzymes.
