
Angela Brazil (1858-1947) was a English writer born in Preston, Lancashire, UK. She is popularly know for her school stories. She was highly interested in sketching. She has published around 60 children's novels which mostly revolve around girl's school stories. . Most of her stories have girls at the centre. Some of her published works are A Fourth Form Friendship (1912), The Luckiest Girl in the School (1916), The Jolliest of All (1922).

Summary of the story-
The exams at the end of the school term were due. Mavis and Merle were two Ramsay girls. They both had suffered from a disease -mumps. When they got back to school, there was a lot of work to do. They kept studying till their heads ached. The evening before the exams, Clive predicted about the exam questions. The next day, Mavis and Merle found the same questions in the test paper. All others were surprised. They called a meeting after school. All girls blamed Mavis and Merle for cheating. Did the girls really cheat? To find out let's see the story
The examinations were due. Mavis and Merle had missed a lot of revision due to mumps. They were horrified seeing the work they had to do. They did their best by studying till their heads ached. The evening before their exams, their cousin Clive came and told them to stop studying, or else they may forget everything during the exam time. heads may pain during the exam time. Clive then said that they may listen to the oracle. Clive said he'd be their wizard tonight, he pretended to fall in abstraction, he foretold their exam questions, then Clive went to bed. After that, Merle went to the drawing-room and Mavis reopened her textbooks and studied the foretold questions again.
Merle yelled that Clive is fooling them, but they kept on studying. Soon, Mrs. Ramsay, told them to finish their studies else they may develop headaches tomorrow during exams. Thereafter, Merle found her jersey that she was looking everywhere .But it was wet and her mother advised to give it to Alice to dry it. Next day, Merle went to school in a thoughtful mood about her fortune and told her friends about Clive’s prediction and then they attempted the English and Geography paper consecutively and found to their surprise that they has received the same questions which they were discussing with Clive yesterday. Both of them were feeling very lucky and were thankful for the guessing made by Clive. Even, Muriel and her friends were wishing that they could have a cousin like Clive.
