Knowing about "self" entails deeper understanding beyond from what we perceive it to be as self.

Lots of well known philosophers from the past have expressed their wisdom about this matter and its dilemma including the philosophers at the Age of Reason.

One of these philosophers who greatly influenced people in this era is Immanuel Kant who proposed the idea, "We construct the self."

"And what does he mean by that?"

As stated in the quote, we people are the ones  who build our own self.

To make this happen, we let our inner self or rational intellect interact with the outer self or our senses in the physical world, in order to processed who or what person we should be.

This philosophy of self is the one that I believe to be true.
