I dedicate this story to my wonderful Grandma and to all the children who love snow days and love to bake, like me!

"Hi Everyone! My name is Beau and I am visiting my Grandma at her house today!"

"Today is a snow day from school. Outside it looks like a winter wonderland!"
"I wonder how Grandma and I will spend the day..." Beau said.

"I have an idea Beau!" Grandma said. "Since it is such a chilly day outside, why don't we warm up and bake some cookies?" Grandma asked.

"That sounds fun Grandma! Let's go to the kitchen and find the ingredients we need." Beau said.

"The ingredients we will need are eggs, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, vanilla extract, and flour." Grandma said.

"Let's look over our ingredients and make sure we have enough to make our cookies. Can you help me count how many eggs there are?" Grandma asked.

"That is right we have 3 eggs! Uh oh.. our recipe asks for 5 eggs and we only have 3. Beau, could you go to my neighbor Sue's house and ask for more eggs?" Grandma asked.

"Sure, Grandma! I am going to have to bundle up first before I go outside in the cold. Can you help me find my winter gear?" Beau asked.
"I think it may be hiding in the living room!"

"Please look for my scarf, jacket, gloves, and hat. Use your finger to point to them as you find them!" Beau said.
"Psst... Count the objects as you go."

"Thanks for finding my winter gear for me! How many pieces of clothing did you find for me?" Beau asked.

"I hope you counted 5 items of clothing! I had my hat, scarf, 2 gloves, and a jacket. Now I am ready to head outside!" Beau said.

*WOOOOOHHHHH*
"Wow the wind sounds like it is howling at me! I better hurry to neighbor Sue's house before it gets too cold." Beau said, shivering.

"Hi Sue! Grandma and I are making cookies today but, we do not have enough eggs. Do you have a few to spare?" Beau asked.

"Hi Beau! Yes I do have a few eggs to spare. Let's head to the kitchen!" Sue said.

"I have some eggs here. How many do you and Grandma need?" Sue asked.
