WHAT IS GREEN BUILDING
The world population has increased exponentially in the last 60 years, reaching from 2.5 billion in 1950 to 7 billion today. This increase has increased the demand for limited natural energy resources, and in line with this demand, environmental problems such as global warming, decrease in biodiversity, water scarcity, deforestation, and air pollution caused by automobile use have emerged.
Green Building is an environmentally friendly, economical and healthy building where the building is evaluated and designed within the framework of its life cycle starting from the land selection process, suitable for the conditions specific to the nature in which it is located, oriented towards energy saving and renewable resources, and where materials with low environmental effects are selected, providing water efficiency.
WHAT IS SUSTAINABILITY?
The concept of sustainability was first drawn in the Brundtland Report titled "Our Common Future", published by the World Environment and Development Commission in 1987. It aims to increase the quality of life between today and the future, by establishing a balance between human and the environment in which they live, without consuming natural resources and ensuring their transfer to future generations.
