Luna was a little moon and she had a great
life. Her mom and dad loved her very much and
she lived in the beautiful city called the Milky
Way, but she was still sad.
Luna didn't have a friend to call her own. One
day Luna went out and ventured her city in
search of a friend.

She stopped and talked to the Sun. Will you be
my friend Mr. Sun asked Luna? But the sun said
that she was to old to be friends with Luna.

So on she went to continue her search for the
perfect friend. The next person she saw was
Mercury; and she asked him, “do you want to be
my friend?” But being the bully he was, laughed
at Luna and said “why would I be friends with
someone that was so little?”

Luna, a little hurt by what Mercury said,
continued on her search and stopped when she
saw Venus. Being Mercury’s best friend, she
didn’t want to be friends with someone he
laughed at so she kindly declined the offer.

Earth was the next one she saw, but Luna didn't
think someone that looked as magnificent as him
would want to be friends with her. With out even
asking she continued.

Mars was a shy little girl and enjoyed not
having any friends. She told Luna that she
would, but she would always be bored and
there wasn't much of a friendship of there was
nothing to talk about. Luna said, “That's okay, I
understand; and you are really nice.” and went
on her way.

The next person she asked was big Jupiter.
Luna got a little scared, but stuck to her guns.
After she asked him if he would be her friend,
he said with his booming voice “I have all the
friends I need, and all 63 of them are bigger
than you.” So on she went.

Next, she was to the place where Saturn lives,
but she lives in a fenced in house. Luna trying
to get Saturn’s attention but was locked out of
the fence so she continued her journey.

Uranus and Neptune were pushing the Milky
Way limits and Luna promised her parents she
would stay within the city, but she decided she
would ask them anyway. They were best
friends and didn’t want anyone else in their
group.

They said that they were much happier playing
with each other then with other planets. Luna,
sad that she couldn't ask anymore planets,
started crying.

She started home and as she went by, she saw
all the other planets and moons having fun. All
but one, Earth. He was just sitting there lonely.

When he saw Luna crying, he called her over
and asked her what was wrong. Luna told him
that none of the planets want to be her friend
and a lot of them were a little rude.

Earth asked her why she never asked him. She
explained to him that he looked very good and
thought that all the other planets would laugh
at her if she asked him.

He said kindly that he wasn't like the other
planets and that she was really pretty and
would love to be her friend. Smiling, Luna did
a jump for joy and told Earth that she would
be right back.

Quickly Luna sped home to tell her parents
that she found a friend and told them his name
was Earth. Her parents, over joyed, told Luna
that they were very proud of her and that they
would love to meet him.

Luna took her parents to introduce them to
Earth and they all got along very well. Earth
invited them to stay for dinner so they could
get to know each other a little better.
