Where am I?

Meet Kevin.  Kevin is a forgetful ant that lost his home.

Kevin got blown away from his home during a big storm.

When Kevin landed he hit his head very hard, and because he hit his head he now has trouble recalling his home, and he can't remember his friends either.

Bonk!

Hitting his head made it hard to recall memories from his long-term memory, so things that happened a long time ago are hard to remember.

When he tries to remember his home all he can remember is this grass.  He remembers the picture because of visual encoding.  Visual encoding is remembering what your eyes see.

AHHHHHHH!

When Kevin saw the spider he started running.  This is because of his brain's implicit memory.  When he saw the spider he got automatically got scared.

He ran really far away, but forget why he was running.  This is because when he hit head his he also began having issues remembering things from his short-term memory.  This makes it hard to remember things that happened not long ago.
