Sacrificial Love

Catelynn Lowell was born on 

March 12, 1992 in Port Huron, 

MI. After moving around a 

million times, she finally ended 

up back in Port Huron. She 

stayed there long enough to 

attend both Middle and High 

School. This is where she met, 

Tyler.

Artifact! Catelynn is from Port 

Huron, MI.

Catelynn and Tyler met in 7th 

grade. Like Catelynn, Tyler 

moved around a lot which lead 

him to transfer schools and 

join the same music class as 

Catelynn. "It was love at first 

site, I loved her from the 

moment I saw her. Her punk 

rock hair and attitude matched 

perfectly for my edgy, hyper 

personality."

Artifact! Catelynn and Tyler met in 

their 7th grade music class.

Catelynn and Tyler started 

dating in the 7th grade but took 

a short break in 8th grade. They 

got back together and have 

been dating ever since! 

Catelynn and Tyler have been 

together for 8 years now and 

are still going strong. But their 

relationship hit a rough spot 

when Catelynn found out some 

shocking news.

Artifact! Catelynn and Tyler have 

been a couple for 8 years.

In September 2009, 

Catelynn found out she was 

pregnant. Catelynn's mom 

was shocked but as happy 

as ever when she found out 

her daughter was pregnant. 

Unlike her mom, Catelynn 

and Tyler were scared. 

Providing for a child is a 

huge responsibility that 

neither were ready to 

handle.

In shock and denial from the pregnancy, Catelynn still 

hadn't decided what she wanted to do. Catelynn was 

getting a lot of pressure from her family to parent. The 

pressure became much worse when her mom found out 

Catelynn was considering adoption. After hearing 

everyone elses opinion, Catelynn found her own and 

had made a decision.

Catelynn chose 

adoption. After thinking 

about the kind of 

mother she wanted to 

be and the life she 

wanted for her 

daughter, adoption 

seemed to be the only 

one that made sense. 

So her and Tyler found 

an agency and 

continued to move 

forward in the adoption. 

The next step was 

choosing a family.

Artifact! Dawn was their 

adoption counselor. 

The adoption agency sent them a few profile books of 

adoptive families and after looking through them, 

Catelynn and Tyler chose one. Their names were 

Brandon and Teresa, and everything about them was 

perfect. They were happily married, seemed kind, and 

were capable of raising a child. So they set up a face to 

face meeting and it was a perfect match!

Shortly after, Catelynn 

gave birth to her 

daughter, Carly. After 

spending as much time 

with her as they could, 

the hard part came. 

Catelynn gave the baby 

she carried for 9 months 

to Brandon and Teresa. 

Catelynn and Tyler both 

agree it was the hardest 

thing they've ever had 

to do but going through 

it together made it 

easier.
