Dominic was once a very hard working student and he was the President of his school. 

But he then discovered a new video game which resulted in him ignoring his homework and acting like a fool.

His parents believed it wouldn't become a problem but warned him not to play too much anyways.

I know I don't have to worry about this with you but just remember not to play too much.

And Dominic cockily replied saying that he'd be fine if he continued, and that he'd get back to work the next day.  

I'm fine, I'll keep playing and nothing bad will happen! Besides, I'll just get back to work tomorrow.

3 days later, Dominic still hadn't stopped playing his game.

His parents began to believe he was getting addicted and that it was ruining his brain.

And they were correct because for a long while after, Dominic played his video game everyday after school.

 Dominic's addiction caused his appearance to change and he lost most of his friends since they no longer thought that he was cool.

We can't stay as friends with you if you just ignore us for video games.

Dominic, you look so different compared to just a few weeks ago.

More importantly, he also lost his school Presidency and his grades dropped too.

Later that night, Dominic began to think about all that happened and he began to feel blue. 

he thought back to when he was doing well and had good grades, and asked himself what went wrong.

How did I let all this happen? I used to be such a good student. Man oh man, where did it all go wrong?!

And it was then that he figured out that the answer to this question was in front of him all along.

Aha!

Dominic realized that ever since he began playing video games and got addicted to them, his life went downhill and he lost everything.

Unfortunately however, this realization was meaningless since it was already too late, and his failure hit him like a sting.

Ouch!

Years later, Dominic was still playing video games at home and caused his parents to go broke. 

We have no more money because you spent it all for your games!!

And when his dad kicked him out of the house, Dominic thought it was a joke.
