Siddhartha Gautama was born 563 BCE into kshatriya caste in present day Nepal. He was the prince of kingdom of kapilavastu. Siddhartha had a legendary birth, life and death. Siddhartha Gautama was later knows as Buddha because of his religion.

Once upon time........

A king named Suddhodana and his wife, Queen Maha Maya was living in kingdom of kapilavastu.  

In her vision, she saw six-tusked white elephant came down from heaven and entered her stomach through the right side.  

One night, while Queen Maya was asleep, she had vision.

Ten months after Queen Maya vision, she was pregnant. she was expecting her child. 

During last month of Queen Maya her pregnancy, Queen Maya left kapilavastu and went to her father kingdom, She was guarded by soldiers and servant. On their way to the kingdom. They stopped in a deep forest and Queen Maya start to go through birth pain. It is said that a tree lowered it's branches for Queen Maya to hold on to while giving birth.

After his birth, the child took seven steps forward and at each steps, a lotus flower bloomed on the ground. At the seven steps, he stopped and said:

"I am Chief of the world, 

  Eldest am I in the world,

  Foremost am I in the world, 

  This is the last birth,

  There is now no more coming to be."

The people around him were shocked.  

After baby birth's, the king called all the wise sages to see his son future. Among them there was a wise man called Asita. When Asita saw the child he said "he well became either great leader or the redeemer" and named him Siddhartha.  

Siddhartha grew up in luxury life, Since his father went him to become a king; he protected Siddhartha from suffering, sadness and provide him with everything he need.  

Siddhartha was married to his cousin, Yasodhara at very young age. They had a baby called Rahula.  

As Siddhartha grew up, He was curious about the life outside his palace, So he make his charioteer, Channa to take him out to the village

While he is in the village. Siddhartha came across four sight:

1. Sick man

2. Dead man

3. Old man

4. Ascetic

Siddhartha was very sad and shocked after seeing the three sight for the first time. But after he saw the Ascetic he was struck by the calmness and wanted to follow this path.

In order to began his ascetic life, Siddhartha left his wife, child, and luxuries life. he also cut his hair off as it was symbol of social status. After he started searching for the truth.  

Siddhartha start practicing meditation. and he started fasted for long period of time. He was fasted were he is near starvation like the other Ascetic with him.

Once a time, Siddhartha was taking bath in the river. a girl named Sujata gave him a bowl of rice. After he eating a bowl of rice. Siddhartha realized that fasting and starvation won't help him to reach his goal.
